Meet our Coaches

Hannah Erwin, Head Coach

Hi everyone! Welcome to our GWVB program website. I have coached the GWHS Boys and Girls Varsity teams since 2024, completing my first seasons with both just now in April 2025. I have around 20 years of experience playing competitively and going on 6 years of coaching, primarily focused on girls’ club volleyball. In the Fall of 2024, I transitioned to high school athletics, leading the girls volleyball program at George Washington High School in my first season.

Growing up in Houston, Texas, I played club for the currently ranked #8 club in the nation, Houston Juniors, and attended College Park High School which maintains a competitive ranking in one of the largest 6A conferences in Texas. Having 2 older sisters who both played collegiate volleyball, one who played professionally in Finland, volleyball was life. I moved to Colorado 10 years ago to play for the University of Denver’s DI NCAA volleyball program, playing briefly for one season. These days, I stay active in competitive co-ed volleyball leagues around Denver, playing doubles with my fiancé, 4s grass at Wash Park, and 6s indoors at Dive Volleyball Club.

Outside of volleyball, I work as an HR project manager for a solar developer in Denver called Pivot Energy. My work revolves around building processes and programs for employees, anything from employee benefits to training resources to performance management and DEIJ. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, taking our dogs to the park, and watching just about any sport.

I am passionate about working with young adults, and how, through sports, we can both experience joy and learn life skills. Coaching for me is partially a way to reclaim a sport that at some point became more of an occupation than an outlet to experience joy, That is my hope for my players, that we continue to have fun while pushing ourselves to get better.

Maty Ndiaye, C-Team

Hi, I’m Maty Ndiaye — a passionate coach, educator, and mentor dedicated to helping young athletes unlock their full potential both on and off the court.

I bring over 10 years of coaching experience across multiple sports, including volleyball, basketball, step, and track and field. I hold a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Pre-Health Care, and I am a certified NASM Youth Exercise Specialist as well as a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. My educational and athletic background allows me to support athletes not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Before fully stepping into the world of coaching, I spent seven wonderful years working in education, serving as a college counselor and later as an Athletic Director. Those experiences strengthened my mission: to empower the next generation to believe in themselves, chase their goals, and make an impact in their communities and beyond.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and proud of my Senegalese roots, I bring a strong sense of culture, leadership, and heart into every team I coach. Coaching for me isn’t just about sports — it’s about building confidence, resilience, and a foundation for success in life.

Outside of volleyball, I am the founder of Love You First Journey, a self-love and empowerment community focused on uplifting others through mind and movement. I also currently serve as the Head Trainer at Stride Fitness, a treadmill and strength training studio. My broader fitness background includes experience in kickboxing, boxing, and functional training, allowing me to bring a dynamic and holistic approach to athletic development.

I’m incredibly passionate about showing young athletes what they are capable of — not just in their sport, but in their mindset, their leadership, and their life journey. I’m honored to guide, support, and celebrate each athlete as they rise into their greatness.

Let’s grow, lead, and make an impact — together.
